Drawing Time: 20min Daily:)

Learn the rules like a pro so you can break them like an artist.”

– Pablo Picasso

Good Morning to all you lovely artists out there!

Just reminder on my thoughts from last week on how to start drawing as a beginner. (And be sure to check your inbox for Fridays issue, I’ll be sharing a quick an easy technique to improve your sketching!)

Here’s my best advice:

  • Just start drawing and draw a lot.

  • Don’t compare your art to others, be patient with yourself.

  • You learn the most at the beginning of a drawing. So instead of trying to make one perfect drawing, make ten imperfect drawings - you’ll improve faster.

  • Your 100th drawing is not 99+1, it’s 10x better. Daily practice, when consistent, adds up to exponential growth.

On another note, a couple of weeks ago we had a poll about sharing the love. Your overwhelming response was that this is a good idea. Be sure to scroll to the end for our first opportunity!

Now for the promised references and prompts…

Show Some Love!

Ok, this is your opportunity to show some love to one of our fellow daily sktchr’s!

Remember the poll a couple weeks ago about supporting each others efforts with some positive feedback? Well every one overwhelming voted to “show some love”!

Over the weekend I’ll research some IG hashtag’s that might work for our communities “show some love” endeavor, but in the meantime @happyrn_art tagged the newsletter with some art based on one of the ref’s sent out and is great opportunity for us!

Remember the goal is love and support - positive feedback. There is a time and place for critique but IG comments are not that place (a good teacher knows that good advice is based on the students goals and where they are in their journey after all…)

So lets show some love to one of our fellow daily sktchrs!
