Everybody born comes from the Creator trailing wisps of glory. We come from the Creator with creativity. I think that each one of us is born with creativity.”

On checkout just cut and paste the promo code:

I don’t do promo codes much so hopefully I got it set up right. But if you have any problems just reply back.
This guy is fun to watch. He draws in a Loomis style and is very good. Pay special attention to his foundational strokes. He’s similar to your favorite daily drawing newsletter editor in that he doesn’t talk much:) But it is oddly relaxing to watch him draw.
This is a deep dive on visualization from a Standford Professor and brain scientist. Though the emphasis is on learning and visual arts, there are a lot of correlations that many artists might find useful.
I’m reminded of comment in the book Art and Fear by David Bayles. In it he describes a student lamenting to his teacher that his finished work is not as good as it was in his head. The teacher comments ‘what makes you think that will ever change??’
The point is if our ability to visualize something sets the bar for how good our art is then to raise the bar, we need to improve our ability to visualize.
This guy is another jewel. He’s unique in that he has one foot in the illustrators camp and one in the fine artists, and his art in both areas is high quality which really speaks to his virtuosity. Fans of Frank Frazzetta and Nicolai Fechin both, will enjoy his work. Best of all, as a teacher, he’s generous with his content.
How was today's edition?? |
Enjoy your weekend homework:)
Happy Sketching!
