Weekend Watch List:
This first video is a great watch. Scott Burdick is a very accomplished artist and has been for many years. He studied under Richard Schmid in Chicago way back when and has probably drawn and painted from a live model more than any other artist. A few years ago I took a workshop from him and his wife. Both of them super talented and super nice. Enjoy the video…
Cesar Santos is fun to watch. He’s a character with a ton of personality that he pairs with artistic chops. Drawing in a museum isn’t easy (I’ve done it many times), but Cesar makes it look easy. And if you think that’s impressive, some of his other videos show how he paints and color matches from museum works. It’s time consuming but worth it. Shows Cesars’s grit in improving his craft as well.
This is a great video for understanding two most popular approaches to portrait drawing. Stephen goes into the pros’s and con’s of each approach.
